Uncle Mo is Ready

Uncle Mo is finally set to make a long awaited start. The Breeders’ Cup Juvenile champion from 2010, Uncle Mo sat out of the Triple Crown races earlier this year due to illness. But on August 27th, he will be returning; running in the Grade 1 King’s Bishop.

There was a lot of hype around this horse earlier in the year, but Uncle Mo has not raced since April’s Wood Memorial. He was eventually diagnosed with a liver disease. He did, however, have an impressive workout August 14th at Saratoga. With an effortless run, Uncle Mo ran five furlongs in 1:00.34. His connections have said that he is in the best shape he has been all year, even prior to his illness.

Hopes are running high for Uncle Mo and his return campaign. Whether or not he will compete in November’s Breeders’ Cup Classic remains to be seen, but if all goes well, perhaps Uncle Mo will at least show Saratoga race fans a great performance at the King’s Bishop next weekend.
